Facebook & Fiscal Fast Final updates

Part of concluding my Facebook and no spend challenges for the month of January include my final blog post so although I'm a few days late, I still wanted to show up to report my final results.

Other than a quick log in to deactivate my Facebook account (AGAIN) after a friend brought to my attention that it was reactivated (I suspect from a Spotify log in), I did not use Facebook at all during the month of January.  While it was a struggle initially, I don't miss it and am not in a hurry to go back. I love my family and friends but I have decided that I love keeping in touch the old fashioned way ie - visits, phone calls, texts and e-mails lol  :-)

At the time that I deleted Facebook, I deleted  Instagram as well.  We know someone who is in India who will be sharing pictures so I do plan to reactivate that app sometime in the near future.

My no spend challenge didn't end quite so favorably but it wasn't absolutely horrible either...

I spent 31.34 at Treasured Memories on the 29th - they had a "garage sale" which of course means it was a justified purchase...not!

We spent a total of 619.74 on food for the month which was $419.74 over what our targeted budget was.  Although it felt like we were shopping more carefully (at times anyway), we don't spend a whole lot more than that in a normal month!!!!!!

The challenge was definitely not easy - I said "no" to things I wanted way more than I said "yes" so at the end of it all I was very pleasantly surprised to find that we did have a little bit of extra money to put on debt afterall!

I love a challenge, well the kind that I choose anyway... so I've chosen a few tasks to focus on for February.  All of the tasks are things that I wrote down at the beginning of the year to help me accomplish my longer term goals.

I am carrying on with my goal to read all of the books on my upstairs shelf - I have about 13 left and some of them such as my Running Room Running book also satisfy part of my health goal for 2017.

Sleep is something I struggle with and although some if it is maybe just the way I'm wired, I know there are things I can do to improve the measly 3 - 4 1/2 hours that I  average a night.  I've started with typing up my schedule and including a regular, consistent bed and wake up time as well as a curfew for electronics.  I really don't like going to bed and I don't like getting up early in the morning but both are completely necessary so ...wish me luck lol.
